With Telltale’s announcement back in February that they had at least 5 games coming down the pipeline, it was acceptable to say at that point that they were truly starting to shed their “indie developer” status. Between big established movie franchises like Back to the Future and Jurassic Park and more cult hits like Fables and The Walking Dead, Telltale seems to be growing right in front of the game industry’s eyes.

Their new 2011 lineup starts with their development of Hector: Badge of Carnage, an episodic adventure game series originating from an iPhone game by an indie Irish developer by the name of Straandlooper. The first episode, We Negotiate with Terrorists, is the only episode Straandlooper ever got around to releasing, with production on future episodes being shared with Telltale. This review is based on the PC port of the original iPhone adventure game, but since The Mashed Potatoes hasn’t reviewed the game, we’ll act like it’s brand new for now, since it technically is a new port on a game we’ve never played before.
